Shinto Wedding - Japan is considered as a Buddhist country, but religious marriage ceremonies take place in temples, shrines, and churches. Many young people prefer Christian wedding ceremonies, but some couples still follow ceremonies in Buddhist temples or shrines. This couple is taking a Shinto shrine memorial service for their wedding, which includes number of traditional customs like drinking SAKE (rice wine) in three small cups, sharing each cup one after one by bridegroom and bride. Generally a wedding party in a hotel conducts after the religious ceremony. Japan society has changed a lot since the 2nd world war, but traditional marriage customs are still practicing especially in remote areas.
